The Artist Behind CatArts
I am Mansoureh Azizpour Shoubi, a decorative artist and the founder of CatArts. My journey began amidst the lush, poetic landscapes of northern Iran—a region where nature, light, and raw texture quietly shape the creative soul. Surrounded by ancient forests and majestic mountains, my connection to art was born out of pure observation, an innate fascination with raw materials, and the distinct atmosphere of my homeland.
Though creation was my childhood instinct, my path initially wound through a more structured academic landscape. Guided by family expectations, I studied the paper and wood industries, eventually earning my Master’s degree from the University of Tehran. Far from a detour, these years deeply refined my technical understanding of surfaces, organic structures, and physical form—knowledge that today enriches and grounds my tactile artistic practice.
Marriage opened the doors to global exploration. Traveling across diverse countries, I immersed myself in international art, architecture, and age-old craftsmanship. Museums, handmade objects, and cultural traditions became my silent mentors, expanding my visual vocabulary beyond geographic boundaries.
For years, art remained a sacred, personal sanctuary. Then, at the milestone of forty, a profound inner clarity called me back to the canvas—not as a pastime, but as my truest vernacular. Five years ago, I fully committed to this calling with a renewed sense of purpose, boundless curiosity, and absolute emotional honesty.
Today, creating from my studio in Muscat, Oman, where I live with my family, I explore the delicate dialogue between emotion, texture, and space. My goal is to create art that feels timeless, intimate, and beautifully alive—and to share these continuous discoveries with the world.
